BOTOX® in Denver and Boulder

BOTOX® in Denver and Boulder

If you’re considering BOTOX®, the Denver Dermatology Center can help you safely reduce early signs of aging and provide a minimally invasive alternative to plastic surgery. Looking and feeling your best can give you the confidence you need to achieve your goals, so if you’re concerned about facial wrinkles, BOTOX® treatment might be an ideal solution.

Over time, "dynamic" facial muscle contractions may cause deep wrinkling that can make us look older than we feel. BOTOX® treatment effectively blocks nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, softening the appearance of these wrinkles. Whether you’re a veteran user with a clear idea of what you want or a potential user who is interested but a little afraid, our skilled team will help you feel at ease and suggest the best approach to meet your cosmetic needs. The Denver Dermatology Center offers BOTOX® to Denver, Boulder, and metro area patients.

To schedule your appointment for BOTOX® at the Denver Dermatology Center, request an appointment online, or phone us at 303-830-2900 today. We encourage you to come in for a skin evaluation and cosmetic consultation.

What is BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is an FDA-approved prescription medication that blocks nerve impulses to injected muscles. It works by decreasing the activity of muscles that contract when we frown, squint, laugh, or make expressions. Some areas respond extremely well to treatment, particularly the deep eyebrow or chin creases, crow’s feet, and horizontal forehead lines. The actual procedure requires only about 10 minutes, with no recovery time. Results appear gradually over 2 weeks and last up to 4 months.

Our approach to BOTOX® injections at the Denver Dermatology Center is sensible: We believe that ideal treatment achieves a balance between softening wrinkles and preserving your natural facial expression.

Benefits of BOTOX® Injections at the Denver Dermatology Center

With just a single BOTOX® treatment, Denver and Boulder patients will begin to see noticeable improvement in their facial wrinkles and experience the following benefits:

  • Simple, non-surgical procedure that requires no anesthesia
  • A 10-minute treatment with little to no recovery time
  • Noticeable improvements that appear within 1 to 2 weeks
  • Results that last 3 to 4 months

If you would like to find a solution to facial wrinkles not caused by muscle contraction, we can suggest other non-surgical procedures such as dermal fillers or laser treatments to meet your needs.

How Do BOTOX® Injections Work?

After discussing your cosmetic goals and reviewing your facial anatomy, treatment sites will be selected. Small amounts of the medication will be injected into targeted facial muscles. The procedure does not require anesthesia. If you have fears that treatment will hurt, rest assured that most patients only experience minimal discomfort.

BOTOX® Recovery

The Denver Dermatology Center team is extremely careful to give you the level of control you want to produce natural-looking results. BOTOX® treatments for some Denver area patients may cause a small amount of localized pain, bruising, inflammation, or swelling, which is easily treated with a cold compress. You will be in and out of the office quickly, with no downtime, and able to resume your normal activities immediately. Within 1 to 2 weeks, you will notice a softening of the targeted facial muscles and a reduction in wrinkling.

BOTOX® Safety and Risks

Worldwide, BOTOX® has been administered to over 11 million people, with an impressive record of safety and patient satisfaction. That said, it is extremely important to select an experienced clinician to perform the treatment to ensure the best results and limit unwanted side effects. In rare instances, BOTOX® can migrate into unintended muscles. If this does occur, patients can be prescribed medications that may help. If you are not happy with your results, remember that the treatment effects are reversible.
