Dermaplaning in the Denver Metro Area
A popular, efficient, non-surgical, and non-chemical treatment to correct superficial skin problems.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive procedure that shaves away the top layers of your skin. It’s an efficient solution for patients who would like to reduce peach fuzz and correct dullness in their facial skin. This non-invasive treatment can improve the look and quality of the skin in a relatively short period of time, in addition to stimulating increased elasticity in the skin and the continual replacement of older, dead cells with newer, rejuvenated ones.
Dermaplaning treats a wide variety of concerns, including:
- Acne scars
- Actinic keratosis (scaly skin patches that can lead to skin cancer)
- Dull, rough, or dry skin
- Vellus hair or “peach fuzz”
- Sun damage
- Fine lines and wrinkles
Additionally, results can be maintained with regular use of our medical-grade skin care products.
How does dermaplaning work?
Your face will be thoroughly cleansed, and your top layer of skin, the epidermis, will be gently scraped off with a sterile scalpel. This will also remove dirt and peach fuzz, while exfoliating your skin. An entire dermaplaning treatment session lasts between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size and contours of the areas to be treated.
You might feel a scratching or stinging sensation on your skin, but dermaplaning usually isn’t painful. Because the process requires no incisions or other invasive measures, there is no downtime associated with the treatment.
Treatment safety and risks
Dermaplaning is safe when performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner. However, all peels carry some risks; the most common complications include infection, scarring, or pigment changes. Our team has the training and experience to properly evaluate your skin, explain potential risks, and administer treatment.
