Add Hyaluronic Acid-Based Volume in Denver

Injectable dermal fillers, such as Juvederm®, give Denver and Boulder patients a fast, safe, and clinically proven way to soften the effects of aging and freshen their appearance. With just one treatment, it is possible to address telltale signs of older skin by smoothing away facial wrinkles, filling in deep creases, restoring youthful contours, and even enhancing your lips. Results can last a year or longer, depending on the dermal filler chosen.

Juvederm® is not a single filler, but a family of dermal fillers—each with a specific formulation and focus. The Denver Dermatology Center team will work with you every step of the way, from initial consultation to follow-up visits as necessary, to help you get results that best suit your skin, face, and cosmetic goals.

What is JUVEDERM®?

If you would like a younger, fresher-looking appearance without surgery, dermal fillers such as JUVEDERM® might give you the subtle "lift" you need. JUVEDERM® is an FDA-approved injectable gel made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in your skin, muscles, and tendons. Used as the base for JUVEDERM® dermal fillers, this moisture-loving carbohydrate can safely add volume where the gradual loss of collagen, fat, hyaluronic acid, and elastin in the skin has caused lines, folds, or hollows to form. The clear gel also improves hydration. Its many benefits make wrinkles less noticeable and contours appear fuller, giving you a "liquid face lift."

What Members of the JUVEDERM® Family are Available at Denver Dermatology Center?

JUVEDERM VOLUMA® is made specifically to add volume to the midface, where rounded apples of the cheeks convey a healthy youthfulness. As fat and collagen diminish over time, and what remains shifts downward, the midface can appear flat or hollow. The shifting tissue can also cause jowls to form lower down. VOLUMA® restores midface volume, creating round apples again for younger-looking contours and structural support for improved jawline definition. These results can last for up to two years.

Thin lips can be the result of collagen loss as a person grows older, or may be a lifelong issue due to the luck of genetics and heredity. No matter the cause of the problem, JUVEDERM VOLBELLA® can be the solution. This dermal filler is created especially for the mouth, smoothing out fine lines that appear in the area, as well as adding moisturizing volume for a subtly fuller, healthier look. Results can last for up to a year.

Collagen loss around the mouth and nose area can create lines known as parentheses, because they look like the vertical, slightly curved punctuation marks. In cases where these lines are moderate to severe, JUVEDERM VOLLURE can be used to soften their appearance. The dermal filler also works on marionette lines below the mouth, and corner lines at the sides of the mouth. Results can last for up to 18 months.

How is JUVEDERM® Administered?

Before your treatment with JUVEDERM® at the Denver Dermatology Center, you will be asked to provide a health history and to identify the problem areas you would like to address. Your injector will examine your skin to determine the best approach to treating those problem areas and to select the specific dermal fillers to meet your needs.

Once JUVEDERM® is injected, the targeted areas will be gently massaged to distribute the gel evenly and uniformly, giving you a more natural appearance.

A typical session lasts less than 60 minutes.

What Are the Benefits of JUVEDERM® for Denver Patients?

Men and women who opt for dermal fillers to rejuvenate their appearance typically do so between the ages of 30 and 50, though younger patients may also benefit from JUVEDERM® injections. Because everyone's skin ages at a different rate and in a different way, JUVEDERM® can treat one or many problem areas, providing individualized results.

Results are visible as soon as the injections are made.

JUVEDERM® is also versatile, in that it works well as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other cosmetic dermatology options, such as BOTOX® and laser treatments, to help you look your best.

What is Recovery Like After JUVEDERM® Injections?

Since JUVEDERM® treatments are nonsurgical, you can expect to recover in two to 12 days. To reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding, which are side effects common to any injections, avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), and blood thinners for a week prior to your session. Some patients may still experience localized swelling and bruising, depending on the injection site. This can be reduced with a cold compress. You should be able to apply makeup to the treated areas and resume normal activity right away.

The Denver Dermatology Center team will help you achieve the natural-looking results you want. The specific JUVEDERM® filler used and your individual facial characteristics will determine how long the improvements will last and how frequently you will need to return to maintain your results.

JUVEDERM® Safety and Risks for Denver-Area Patients

JUVEDERM® has been safely and effectively used for millions of patients worldwide, but should not be used in patients with severe allergies or in patients with allergies to bacterial proteins. It is extremely important to choose an experienced injector to perform the treatment to ensure the best results.
